Bacon Universal is very pleased to announce several highly anticipated new Kubota models will arrive on the islands during the first half of 2025.
The new models were unveiled to Kubota dealers during their annual conference, Kubota Connect, that was held in Grapevine, Texas from September 30-October 3. Members of the Bacon Universal team were in attendance and had the opportunity to see and operate these new models in the metal.
Bacon Universal President & CEO, Matt Elvin, said, “The annual Kubota conference is a fantastic event, where more than 1,400 North American dealers convene to learn and interact with all things Kubota.”
“One of the highlights is being amongst the first to see the new models and model upgrades that we can bring to our customers here in Hawaii. We are very excited by the launches this year, particularly the new SVL50x compact track loader that is a game changer for residential and small commercial projects.”
The SVL50x is the smallest compact track loader offered by Kubota and is ideal for working on jobsites that require a tracked machine that can fit through narrow passageways and operate in confined spaces. Measuring just 48-in wide, yet equipped with a 49.6 HP Kubota diesel engine, the SVL50x lets you put the power where you need it, when you want it.
Designed with landscapers, contractors and residential projects in mind, the SVL50x features a steel frame for durability and is available in four models ranging from an open (ROPS) station to a deluxe fully sealed cab with LCD touch panel. The ‘x’ in SVL50x stands for “extra” due to the number of additional features included in the new model, including a standard rear-view camera, and new technology such as an anti-stall system, and an auto-idling system that helps save fuel.
There is also a new creep mode that slows the machine to a crawl when operating a trencher, or similar attachments, and new undercarriage suspension with the mid-rollers suspended by torsion axles. The SVL50x will begin shipping early 2025, with the first units scheduled to arrive in Hawaii during Q2 2025.
Kubota also announced updates to the SVL97-2 compact track loader, that will become the SVL97-3. A workhorse of the jobsite, the updates include advanced hydraulics for robust precision and a powerful 96.4 HP engine. New ergonomic controls and cab improvements make for a more comfortable operator experience. The SVL97-3 models are expected to start arriving in Hawaii during Q2 2025.
Kubota has also updated some of its most popular excavator models. The new U17-5 maintains zero tail swing performance for working in tight spaces, yet the rear has been extended by 1.2 inches to handle heavier attachments and provide a more spacious cab. The upgraded cab also boasts improved visibility and new ergonomic controls.
The KX040-5 is the latest rendition of this 4-ton excavator. Featuring advanced hydraulics, a 6-in-1 blade, keyless start, and heavy-duty paneling, the KX040-5 is designed to handle the toughest jobs. Other updates include improved visibility from the cab, LED work lights, and easier access to maintain the engine from one side of the unit. Both new excavators are expected to be available in Hawaii during Q2 2025.
Kubota also introduced changes to its range of utility vehicles, with the new RTV-X series. The RTV-X CREW enables you to easily switch between two seats or four seats, utilizing its innovative K-Vertible® bed system.
The RTV-X CAB features a ProKonvert cargo box and three-way tailgate opening. Both models are powered by a 24.8 HP engine and are available in a choice of colors, with a wide range of customized accessory kits and add-ons.
“Kubota continues to be a market leader for construction equipment and utility vehicles, and these new and updated models reinforce this position,” Matt added. “We know these models will be in high demand, and as with all new product launches, availability will be limited initially. We encourage our customers to reach out to their nearest branch as soon as possible to pre-order.”
