Equipment Associate - Hilo


The Equipment Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of the dealership lot. This role involves coordinating the movement, inspection, and preparation of heavy machinery, ensuring that all equipment is in top condition and presented professionally to customers. 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain the display of heavy equipment, ensuring all units are clean and easily accessible for customers and staff.
  • Assist in tracking equipment inventory, ensuring that all machinery is accounted for and properly documented.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of all freight from delivery trucks, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Perform basic inspections on incoming and outgoing equipment, checking for damage or mechanical issues. 
  • Prepare equipment for customer delivery, rental, or sales. This may include cleaning, fueling, and performing basic maintenance tasks.
  • Assist the processing of all incoming and outgoing rental machines.
  • Work closely with the service, sales, and rental departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely movement of equipment.
  • Initiate regular machine start-ups to prevent battery depletion and ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure that all machines requiring charging are properly placed in the designated charging stations.
  • Thoroughly wash and detail all new machines before they are delivered to the customer. 
  • Conduct routine checks of dealership vehicles and equipment for cleanliness, safety, and readiness. 
  • Keep the lot free of debris, trash, and hazards, ensuring a clean and safe environment. 
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, when operating heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Report any damage or required repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently (training provided if necessary)
  • Forklift experience preferred (training provided)
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
