HR & Payroll Manager - Oahu


We are recruiting an effective & energetic HR/Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of our human resources and payroll functions.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, payroll processing, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. This role has an ongoing and instrumental part of the executive’s workplace culture and values project. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage the full cycle of payroll processing, working with outside service (ProService)
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local labor laws.
  • With the payroll service (Proservice), handles employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits and other HR matters.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices, to assist with attraction and retention of staff.
  • Manage annual performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to employees & managers on the process.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes and communication.
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs in conjunction with the Training Manager
  • Handle employee relation issues and conduct investigations as needed in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for employee retention and engagement.
  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Implements and updates annually the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all roles within the business; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participated in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  • Evaluate reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in HR management and payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws
  • Experience with HR and payroll software systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • SHRM certification preferred, not required
